Pacific Coast Canola Project - Status
Equipment and Process Engineering from Crown Ironworks
Crush process flow diagrams are complete. Contract includes seed conditioners, expeller presses, deodorizer, and other equipment required to meet the 1100 metric ton per day capacity. This contract has production capacity and residual oil specifications guaranteed by Crown Ironworks.
Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
The site plan is complete. The foundation and structural drawings are 50% complete. The remaining drawings - architectural, mechanical, electrical, and tank farm - are approximately 30% complete.
Permits
The project has received a mitigated determination of non-significance (MDNS) under Washington's State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) from the City of Warden for the canola crush plant and an optional biodiesel plant on the site. The Department of Ecology issued the air permit in October. Our wastewater discharge permit can be secured as soon as we complete engineering work on that system. Construction permits are issued by the City of Warden and can be applied for at any time.
Facility Lease with the Port of Warden
Fifty year lease, with a renewal option of up to 30 years, with the Port of Warden for a 52-acre site. The site is located on the Columbia Basin Railroad, which recently completed its purchase
of all the trackage we will use from BNSF.
